Resetting your password
Updated 16 September 2026
Use "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page or "Email me a password reset link" in Settings; the link arrives within a few minutes and works once.
Locked out? On the sign-in page choose Forgot your password?, type the email address you signed up with and choose Send reset link. The email arrives within a few minutes, the link works for 60 minutes, and it opens a page where you choose a new password of at least 8 characters. Your password is shared with SubLearn, so a reset here changes it there too.

Get back into your account
- Open the sign-in page and choose Forgot your password?.
- Type your email address and choose Send reset link.
- Open the email and choose the link.
- Type your new password twice and choose Change password.
- Sign in with the new password.
The page shows the same "Your request has been received" message whether or not an account uses that address, so a quiet inbox can also mean the address isn't the one on your account.
If no email arrives
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Try the address you actually signed up with. Many of us have two or three.
- Wait a minute before asking again. We send one reset email per address per minute, and a second request within that minute is ignored rather than doubled.
- If you signed up with Google, there may never have been a password. Signing in with Continue with Google still works, and Signing in with Google explains how to add a password later.
Set a password on a Google account
Signed in with Google and want a password as well? Open Settings, scroll to Change password and choose Email me a password reset link. The link goes to your current email address and lets you set a password without knowing an old one. You can ask for three of these an hour.

Change your password while signed in
- Open Settings and scroll to Change password.
- Type your Current password, then the New password twice.
- Tick "I understand this changes my shared SubLearn account too." and choose Change password.
When it saves you see "Password changed. Previously tracked sessions have been signed out." Every other browser in your Recent browser sessions list is signed out on its next visit, which is exactly what you want if you think someone else had your old password.
If the link says it no longer works
Reset links expire after 60 minutes and each one works once. Ask for a fresh link from the sign-in page and open the newest email, not an older one.
Write to us
If you still can't get in, tell us the email address on your account from the contact page with "I can't sign in, or my account looks wrong" selected: Contact us about signing in. A person replies within one working day.
