These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of MicroEnglish (microenglish.com) and the services I provide. By creating an account or using the website, you agree to these Terms.
If you don’t agree with these Terms, please don’t use MicroEnglish.
1. Your Account
Account Creation
To access premium features, you need to create an account. When you register, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your password secure and confidential
- Notify me immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
Account Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you’re under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian to use MicroEnglish.
One Account Per Person
Each account is for individual use only. You may not share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account.
2. Membership Plans and Billing
Available Plans
MicroEnglish offers two membership options:
- Free Account: Practice any 5 exercises every month (15-30+ dictations). Includes progress tracking and bookmarking. No credit card required. Free forever.
- Lifetime Membership: £29.99 one-time payment for unlimited access to all 200+ exercises (500+ dictations total), plus all future content and features.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy. By providing payment information, you authorize Lemon Squeezy to charge your payment method for the one-time lifetime membership fee.
Lifetime Access
Lifetime membership provides permanent access to MicroEnglish with no recurring charges. Your access continues for as long as MicroEnglish operates, including all future content and features at no additional cost.

3. Content and Intellectual Property
My Content
The MicroEnglish platform, exercises, text content, design, and code are owned by me and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
Audio Content
The majority of audio on MicroEnglish is either created by me or licensed for use. Some exercises use short clips (typically under 15 seconds) from podcasts and other sources for educational purposes under fair dealing provisions. These clips remain the property of their respective copyright holders.
Your License to Use Content
Your membership gives you a personal, non-exclusive license to access and use MicroEnglish for language learning purposes.
What you CAN do:
- Use exercises for your own learning
- Use exercises in educational settings (classrooms, tutoring sessions, study groups)
- Share exercises with your students as part of teaching
- Print exercises for classroom use
What you CANNOT do:
- Redistribute or resell MicroEnglish content
- Systematically download or scrape the entire library
- Remove copyright notices or branding
- Republish content on other websites or platforms
- Use content for commercial purposes outside of educational teaching
- Share your account login credentials with others
- Extract and redistribute audio files
For Teachers: If you’re a teacher using MicroEnglish in your classroom, that’s wonderful! You’re more than welcome to use exercises with your students. Please get in touch if you’d be interested in institutional access for your class/school.
Your Content
When you post comments or other content on MicroEnglish, you retain ownership but grant me a license to display, store, and use that content as part of operating the website.
You’re responsible for the content you post and must ensure it:
- Doesn’t violate any laws or rights of others
- Isn’t spam, abusive, or offensive
- Doesn’t contain malware or malicious code
I reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise inappropriate.
4. Acceptable Use
When using MicroEnglish, you agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Interfere with or disrupt the website’s operation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without permission
- Collect or harvest user data
- Use MicroEnglish for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
5. Service Availability
I work hard to keep MicroEnglish running smoothly, but I can’t guarantee uninterrupted access. The website may occasionally be unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Technical issues
- Circumstances beyond my control
I’ll do my best to minimize downtime and provide advance notice of planned maintenance when possible.
6. Account Termination
Your Right to Terminate
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting me.
My Right to Terminate
I reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse or misuse the service
- Fail to pay required fees
I’ll provide notice before termination except in cases of serious violations or legal requirements.
Effect of Termination
If your account is terminated:
- You lose access to premium features immediately
- Your progress data may be deleted after 90 days
- You’re not entitled to a refund unless within the refund policy window
- These Terms continue to apply to past use
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Educational Content
MicroEnglish is an educational resource designed to help you improve your English listening skills. While I work to ensure accuracy and quality, I make no guarantees about specific learning outcomes or results.
Service “As Is”
MicroEnglish is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. I don’t warrant that:
- The service will be error-free or uninterrupted
- All errors will be corrected
- The service will meet your specific requirements
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I’m not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of MicroEnglish.
My total liability for any claims related to MicroEnglish is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to me. Please read my Privacy Policy to understand how I collect, use, and protect your personal information.
9. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in my services or legal requirements. When I make significant changes, I’ll notify you by:
- Posting a notice on the website
- Sending an email to your registered address
- Updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
Continued use of MicroEnglish after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law and Disputes
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Dispute Resolution
If you have any concerns or disputes, please contact me first—I’m committed to resolving issues fairly and quickly. Most concerns can be resolved through friendly communication.
If we can’t resolve a dispute informally, legal proceedings must be brought in the courts of England and Wales.
11. General
Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with my Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Refunds Policy, constitute the entire agreement between us regarding MicroEnglish.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
No Waiver
My failure to enforce any right or provision in these Terms doesn’t constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not transfer or assign your rights under these Terms. I may assign my rights to a third party with reasonable notice to you.
