MicroEnglish essentials

Clear information, written for learners.

Listen before opening the transcript

Choose Practice and play the clip. Read the short situation first, then listen for the message. The circular-arrow button plays the recording again from the start.

Write and check

Type the words you hear, or fill the gaps if the exercise shows spaces. Choose Check my answer. The feedback compares your words with the recording; you can edit your answer and try again in Practice.

Ask for a little help

Choose Get a hint for a small clue. Next hint gives more support, using words from this recording. Listen again after each clue. Reveal transcript is a separate choice when you want to read the whole text.

Read the guide or try a test

Learn explains the meaning and shows examples. Test gives you new recordings without hints; the transcript appears after you check your answer. Replay still works in Test.

Choose a voice and speed

The accent choices depend on the clip. Mixed uses the available voices across exercises. Choose 0.75× for slower playback and 1× to return to the recorded speed.
