What MicroEnglish is
Each lesson teaches one thing: an idiom, a phrasal verb, a grammar point or a short piece of listening. You hear it in short recordings, type what you hear, check your answer word by word, then practise with a quiz, speaking and writing tasks and, on many lessons, a short video.
The library has 357 lessons today, and new ones go live every day.
Levels and accents
Every lesson is labelled with a CEFR level. Most sit between A2 and C1, with the largest share at B1 and B2, so the site suits learners who can already follow simple English and want to understand it at natural speed.
Most lessons have recordings in three accents: British, American and Australian English. The voices are synthetic (text-to-speech), and each recording is checked against its script before it is published.
Who makes it
MicroEnglish is made by the MicroEnglish editorial team at SubLearn, a small company that builds language-learning software. The team plans the lessons, runs the checks described in our editorial policy, and answers every message sent through the contact page.
How lessons are made
Lessons are drafted with the help of AI writing tools, then checked by a second, independent AI review and by automatic tests before they go live. Not every lesson is read by a person before publication; people on the team read every problem report and fix what is wrong.
