How MicroEnglish lessons are written, checked, corrected and updated, including where AI is used.
Who writes the lessons
Lessons are published by the MicroEnglish editorial team at SubLearn. We use AI writing tools to draft them, and we say so here rather than on each page: a lesson byline names the team, not an individual author.
How a lesson is made
Every lesson goes through the same steps before it is public:
- Plan: a planning step decides what the lesson must teach, which mistakes learners commonly make with it, and how many sections it needs.
- Draft: an AI model writes the explanation, examples, dictation sentences, quiz and practice tasks from that plan. Lessons are written from scratch; we do not copy dictionary entries or other websites.
- Review: a second, independent AI review checks the draft against our teaching rules (level, accuracy of the meaning, natural examples, no giveaways in hints). A draft that fails is repaired and reviewed again, at most twice; if it still fails, it is not published.
- Audio: recordings are made with text-to-speech voices. Each clip is transcribed again and must match its script word for word, or it is rejected and remade.
- Page check: the finished lesson is opened in two different browsers, at phone and desktop sizes, and its exercises are tried before it can be released.
Where people come in
Not every lesson is read by a person before it goes live. People on the team set the teaching rules and the checks above, and read every problem report learners send. We would rather tell you this plainly than imply a review that did not happen.
Sources and accuracy
Lessons explain standard, current English as it is used today. Meanings and examples should agree with the major learner’s dictionaries; if you find a lesson that does not, that is a mistake we want to fix. We do not invent statistics, quotes or research findings in lessons.
Corrections
If something in a lesson is wrong, unclear or sounds unnatural, tell us through the contact page or the “Report a lesson problem” link in your account. A person reads every report and replies within one working day. When a correction changes what a lesson teaches, we fix the page and its “updated” date changes with it.
How often we update
New lessons are published every day. Existing lessons are revised when a report or one of our checks finds a problem. We never change a page’s date without changing its content.
AI images and voices
Lesson illustrations are made with AI image tools and voices are synthetic. Neither shows or imitates a real person.
