Signing in with Google

On the sign-in page choose Continue with Google, pick your Google account, and you're in. Some browsers also show a small Google prompt in the corner of the page; choosing your account there does the same thing.

The first time you use it

If no MicroEnglish account uses your Google email yet, one is created for you with that address and your Google name. There's no password to remember, and your email counts as confirmed straight away.

If you already have a password account

Google sign-in can only open an account that's already connected to Google. If you created your account with an email and password earlier, choosing Continue with Google shows "An account with this email already exists". Sign in with your password instead; your lessons and progress are all there. Connecting Google to an existing account isn't something you can do from Settings yet; if you'd like it, write to us and a person will sort it out.

Adding a password to a Google account

Signed in with Google but want a password too? Open Settings under your account and choose Email me a password reset link. The link arrives at your Google address and lets you set a password, so either way of signing in works from then on.

If Google sign-in doesn't finish

When you see "Google sign-in could not finish", try these in order:

1. Reload the page and choose Continue with Google again.
2. Check that your browser allows third-party cookies for this site, or try a private window.
3. Try another browser. Some privacy extensions block the Google prompt.
4. Sign in with your password, or request a reset link from the sign-in page.
