Deleting your account

Updated 16 September 2026

Write to us from the contact page with "I can't sign in, or my account looks wrong" selected; a person replies within one working day, the deletion normally completes within a month, and you should download anything you want to keep first.

There's no delete button in Settings yet, so deleting your account is something you ask a person to do. Open the contact page with "I can't sign in, or my account looks wrong" selected, write "delete my account" and send it from the email address on your account. We reply within one working day, and the deletion itself normally completes within a month. Before you write, download anything you want to keep, because a deleted account can't be restored.

The contact page's What is this about cards with the account card selected, above the suggested articles

Before you ask

  1. Save what you want to keep. Downloading your data gives you your phrases, notes and preferences as a file. Once the account is gone, so are they.
  2. Cancel a paid membership first. Deleting the account doesn't stop a subscription by itself. On the billing page choose Manage billing and cancel there; Cancelling your membership walks through it. Deleting the account and cancelling the subscription are two separate things, and only cancelling stops the next charge.
  3. Ask for a refund separately if you're within the guarantee. A full refund within 14 days of your first payment is its own request, made with Request a refund on the billing page, and it doesn't happen automatically when an account is deleted. See Requesting a refund.

Ask us to delete your account

  1. Open Settings, scroll to Your learning data and choose Request account data or deletion, or go straight to the contact page. The card "I can't sign in, or my account looks wrong" is already selected.
  2. Write from the email address on your account if you can. If you can't, tell us the address the account uses.
  3. Say that you want the account deleted, and whether you mean your MicroEnglish learning records only or the whole shared account. Your sign-in is shared with SubLearn, so deleting the whole account removes your SubLearn sign-in too.
  4. Choose Send message. You get a reference, and a reply by email within one working day.

We may ask you to confirm something before we act, because a deletion request has to come from the account's owner. Please don't put your password in the message.

What we delete, and when

Your account, sign-in details, saved phrases, practice history, mistake notebook, review ratings and speaking scores are removed. Any recording you've submitted expires 24 hours after you sent it anyway. Deletion normally completes within a month of your request, and you hear from us by email with the outcome.

Two honest limits: records we have to keep by law, such as payment and tax records, stay for as long as the law requires, and backup copies remain until the normal backup cycle replaces them. We'll explain either if it applies to you.

Stop the weekly email now

You don't need to wait for the deletion to stop the weekly report. Open Settings, scroll to Practice plan and accent, untick "Email me one learning report each week" and choose Save changes. The Stop weekly learning emails link at the bottom of any report does the same thing.

Write to us

If you sent a request and haven't heard back after a working day, reply to the confirmation email so it stays in the same conversation, or write again from the contact page with your reference.
