Cancelling your membership
Updated 16 September 2026
Choose "Manage billing" under Account → Billing and cancel there; you keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Open Account → Billing, choose Manage billing, and cancel your plan in the billing portal that opens. Nothing else is charged, and you keep everything membership gives you until the end of the month or year you've already paid for. Your account, lessons and results stay as they are afterwards.

Cancel your plan
- Sign in and open Account, then Billing.
- On the plan card, choose Manage billing. This opens Stripe's billing portal, in Stripe's own design, where you can also update your card and download receipts.
- Find your MicroEnglish plan and choose the cancel option (Stripe labels it Cancel plan), then confirm.
- Stripe brings you back to your account Overview. Open Billing again and the plan card now reads Cancellation scheduled, with the status Will not renew and an Access until date.
That date is the end of your current billing period. Until then every lesson, test and practice page works exactly as before.
If the portal doesn't show a cancel option, write to us with "Billing" selected and a person will cancel it for you the same working day.
What happens on the end date
Your membership simply stops renewing. The plan card changes to Membership ended and the later clips, tests and practice pages lock again, while the free guided dictation in every lesson stays open. Nothing is deleted: saved lessons, results, phrases and your weekly history are all still there when you come back.
There's no pause option. If you know you'll be away for a while, cancelling and returning later works the same way and costs nothing in between.
Come back later
Whenever you want membership again, choose See membership options on the plan card, or open the pricing page, and pay for monthly or annual as you did the first time. Access starts immediately. Note that a second subscription isn't covered by the 14-day guarantee, which applies to your very first payment only.
Changed your mind before the end date? Open Manage billing again; Stripe usually offers to renew a plan that's set to cancel. If you don't see that, write to us and we'll sort it out.
Cancelling isn't a refund
Cancelling stops future payments; it doesn't return the one you've already made. If your first payment was less than 14 days ago and you'd like it back, don't cancel here; use Request a refund on the same Billing page instead, which ends membership immediately and returns the money. See Requesting a refund and The 14-day first-payment guarantee.
Deleting your account is separate
Cancelling keeps your account so you can return. If you want your account and learning history removed as well, that's a separate request: see Deleting your account. Cancel your plan first, so no payment is taken while the deletion is handled.
