The Mistakes page

Open Account, choose Practice, then Mistake notebook. It lists your latest answer on every clip you didn't match word for word, newest first, with what you typed and the share of words you got. Each row has an Open lesson button that takes you straight to the tab where the clip lives, so you can listen and type it again without redoing the whole lesson.

Your writing coach

At the top of the notebook, your writing coach looks at your answers from the last 60 days and names the slips you make most often, up to three. For example:

• Small words in fast speech: you leave out words like a, the, to or and.
• Word endings: you write worker when you heard workers.
• Words that sound similar: you write a real word, but not the one in the recording.
• Spelling: you heard the right word but spelled it differently.

Each one shows how often it happened, whether it's getting better, a tip, a real example from your answers, and new short clips under Practise this. Corrections from the daily writing task appear under Your own sentences.

Members can choose Get my full review: our AI tutor explains why your slips happen, the rule, and what to do next time. It uses 1 monthly AI credit; with nothing new since your last review, it costs nothing. Tips and practice clips never use credits.

Read what a row tells you

Each entry shows:

• the date you answered;
• the lesson name;
• The recording said, the sentence you were writing down;
• Your answer, exactly as you typed it, so you can spot the word you swapped or dropped;
• a line such as 70% of the words matched (the same number the lesson showed you);
• Open lesson, which opens Practice or Test depending on where the clip came from;
• Save to my phrases, in case the lesson is one you want to keep and review.

A clip you revealed instead of typing says so, with 0%. That's expected; it's there so you come back to it.

Retry a sentence

1. Choose Open lesson on the row.
2. Find the numbered clip (for example Listening 2 of 4) and open it if it's collapsed.
3. Play it, replay it, type the line and choose Check my answer.

Only your newest answer on each clip counts here. When it matches every word, the sentence leaves the notebook. When it doesn't, the row updates with what you typed this time. If your earlier attempt at that lesson was already finished, a fresh attempt starts, so the old result stays in Practice history and your Weekly report.

Make it a habit

Today's practice ends with Try a difficult phrase again and shows the most recent entry from the notebook, so you can fix one sentence a day. If the same clip keeps coming back, save it with Save to my phrases and let the review queue schedule it for you.

Practising as a guest?

Guest results stay in the browser you used, so the notebook is only available once you sign in. Sign in before you start a lesson and every clip you check is kept for you; see How scoring works for what the percentage means.

If a sentence stays in the notebook after you matched it, check the words marked in the lesson once more, then tell us the lesson name and we'll take a look within one working day.
