English prepositions establish relationships between a noun or pronoun and other words in a sentence. They specify position in space (at the entrance, on the desk, in the cabinet), position in time (at six, on Tuesday, in July), direction of movement (to the office), methods or deadlines (by email, by Friday), reasons and recipients (for our client), and instruments or companions (with a wrench, with a colleague).
