Respuesta rápida
How to say I don't know clearly
Say "I'm not sure" in casual talk, "I don't have that information" at work or on the phone, and "I'll find out" when you can get the answer later. The clearest answer often joins two parts: what you don't know and what you'll do next, as in "I'm not sure, but I'll find out this afternoon." A plain "I don't know" is fine with friends, but alone it can sound unhelpful at work.

Explicación de cada frase
-
I'm not sure. Casual and honest
Use it when you have some idea but no certain answer. It is softer than "I don't know" and works with friends and colleagues. Add a guess or a next step if the other person needs an answer.
“I'm not sure.”
-
I don't have that information. Polite and formal
Use it with clients, on business calls, or in customer service. It sounds neutral and professional. With friends it can sound cold, so choose "I'm not sure" there.
“I don't have that information.”
-
I'll find out. Helpful next step
Use it when you can really get the answer later. It turns a missing answer into a promise. Don't say it if you can't follow through.
“I'll find out.”
-
Let me check and get back to you. Professional and reliable
Use it at work when you need time to look something up or ask someone. It shows you'll return with the answer. Give a time if you can.
“Let me check and get back to you.”
-
I'm not sure, but I think... Careful guess
Use it when you have a possible answer but are not certain. Make it clear that you are guessing. Check important facts before the other person relies on your answer.
“I'm not sure, but I think...”
-
I don't know yet. Honest, still in progress
Use it when the answer will exist later, for example after a decision or a result. The word "yet" tells the listener this is temporary.
“I don't know yet.”

No del todo
I don't know. (said alone to a client or manager)Mejor I'm not sure, but I'll find out this afternoon.
A bare "I don't know" can sound like you don't care. Adding a next step shows you're taking the question seriously, just like Theo's second answer.
-
No del todo
I'm not knowing.Mejor I don't know. / I'm not sure.
"Know" is a state verb and is not usually used in the continuous form. Use "I don't know" or "I'm not sure."
-
No del todo
I'll find out. (when you have no way to get the answer)Mejor I don't have that information, but Maria in sales might.
"I'll find out" is a promise. If you can't keep it, it's better to say what you don't have and point to someone who can help.
