…I’ve taken advantage of them…
The expression to take advantage of something means to use or exploit something. This is often used with opportunities – if you take advantage of an opportunity, then you don’t waste it.
e.g. Why don’t we take advantage of the windy weather and fly your new kite?
Note that when this expression is used with people, it has a negative meaning.
e.g. You need to stand up for yourself more at work. Why do you let all your colleagues take advantage of you?
