These three subordinating connectors introduce a concessive clause. A concessive clause provides background information that makes the main outcome surprising or unlikely. The connector informs your listener that the first condition did not prevent the second statement from becoming reality.
Although our morning train arrived late, we reached the theater before the play began.
Why it works: The late train created a clear risk of missing the curtain, yet the second clause confirms the attendees arrived in time.

When you want listeners to feel how surprising an outcome is, choose even though. While although and though state a neutral fact, even though underlines the stubborn reality of the situation. It signals that the barrier was substantial, yet the final result happened anyway. Never confuse this with even if, which deals with hypothetical guesses rather than actual facts.

Connect clauses in the middle without a comma
You can easily place the contrasting clause in the second half of your sentence. This structure presents the main outcome first and adds the limiting condition as supporting context. In modern American English writing, you generally do not place a comma before although, though, or even though when the connector appears midway through a short sentence.

Can although appear at the end of a sentence like though?
